It is Severely Debilitating BOTH Emotionally AND Financially to EVERY Family it touches.
Wherever Cancer attacks, it is a devastating blow for the whole Family -
BUT never more so, than when the victim is a CHILD
For many Families:
· 49% use their Holiday Allowance - to Care for their Very Sick Child
· 91% change their working patterns, following their Childs Diagnosis –
Often to either Part -Time or having to give up work altogether.
· One or Both Parents may have to give up their work - In order to Care for their Child Full -Time.
· Some CAN NOT have a Holiday or a Break, for OVER 3 years
· Many Spend 24hrs a day in hospital - Weeks at a time (if not months)
· Many parents of children with cancer, lose their homes. Their livelihood
