Little Heroes is taking advantage of the popularity of SMS by launching its first text donation campaign.
Mobile phone users are be given the opportunity to text to donate just £1.50, with network operators charging the donor's mobile phone bill and funds being transferred to the charity.
The campaign, is the first time that the charity has used SMS to raise funds,
We are taking advantage of the simplicity of texting with a new service that will mean no need for form filling and setting up mandates with a bank.

SMS Monthly Giving Makes a Difference

Monthly giving provides a steady and cost-effective source of income to the Little Heroes and because your monthly donation is processed automatically, you help us reduce our costs—which allows us to fund more programs and help more children.

How It Works

As an SMS monthly donor, you will be registering to make a donation every month. After you make your initial donation, future donations will be automatically charged to your Mobile Phone. For example, if you make a monthly donation of £1.50 today, your next donation of £1.50 will be automatically charged to your mobile phone in exactly one month to the day, and each subsequent month thereafter.

Availability of funds: You are responsible for maintaining a sufficient credit limit available on your mobile phone on the payment date. If we are unable to process your gift, we may ask you to pay by cheque until you provide us with updated account information.

Record of payments: The amount and date of your automatic pledge gift will appear on your mobile phone statement and on your quarterly email receipt.

Account/donation change: To ensure timely payments, notify the Pledge Coordinator of any mobile phone updates or address changes by phone or email info@littleheroes.org.uk.

If you make a donation to Little Heroes by SMS (short messaging service), the following terms and conditions apply:You must obtain the bill payer's permission.This service is available in England, Scotland and Wales only and costs £1.50  charity will receive approx. £1.00. This will be charged to your normal phone bill or automatically deducted from your pre-pay card. users will also be charged your standard message rate for each message sent. We are currently looking to set up Little Heroes ‘Super Heroes’ across West Yorkshire and surrounding counties to help us raise the funds to provide this much needed support service for children with cancer and their families. There is no limit to the participation of the local Super Heroes fundraising initiatives, ranging from creating and running your own events locally to working with others from our team to organise larger events.
