Although we are still a fledgling charity,
we have some serious long term goals:
Within the next 12 months we want to set up a
website chat room for all parents of children
suffering from cancer (UK wide), so that
parents can find other parents who understand
their situation and can offer support.
Write a parent’s guide to cancer - a parents
view
Within 5 years
We want to open 3 Day Care centres in
Bradford (year 2), Leeds,(year 4) and
Scarborough(year 5) for immune suppressed
children, not just cancer children but also
liver, kidney and lung disease. For children
that have limited or no immune protection, as
they are limited in the places they can go,
often the parent is also trapped and unable to
pop to the supermarket for fear of infection
that could be life threatening. Very often
parents forget about themselves as they become
carers for the ill child.
Imagine having a safe - sterile environment
where you can bring your child, with nursery
nurses trained in caring for children with no
immune system, or have central lines attached.
And being allowed to go shopping, or just have
a bit of respite.
Now imagine that not only do we take care of
the little one but also pay for a treat, be it
getting a haircut, round of golf or dinner.
We also want to get a static caravan on the
coast and give it to families to stay at for
holiday breaks, as many families cannot afford
to pay for holidays themselves due to their
limited financial situation.
We also want to give every child that has been
diagnosed with cancer a star named after
them.
